KEY POINTS:
A composed Tim Wilkinson has won himself a United States PGA Tour card for next year.
Playing in the last leg of the six-round tour school final qualifying series at the Orange County national golf centre in Florida, the Manawatu player signed off with a 68.
It put him on a six-under par total of 416 for a share of 14th, two shots inside the cut-off mark of the top 25 placings for a tour card.
Compatriot Grant Waite who had a final round of 71, for a six-round total of 10-under 422, finished joint 47th, three placings inside the cut for gaining an exemption for the second-tier Nationwide Tour.
The third New Zealander in the field, Brad Iles, finished in a tie for 106th on three-under 429 - a result that earns him conditional Nationwide Tour status.
Wilkinson, 29, said it had been a competitive event.
But he had remained unruffled throughout today's round and by the 17th hole, when he was four-under par, felt he had done the job.
" I thought I would be a lot more nervous today but after the 16th, I felt fairly comfortable coming in," Wilkinson told Radio Sport.
