New Zealand golfers Mark Purser and Josh Geary have both made slow starts in their latest tournament in the United States.
Purser shot a one-over 71 and Geary a four-over 74 in the opening round of the prestigious Porter Cup at the Niagara Falls Golf Club near New York yesterday.
Geary won't be joining fellow Bay of Plenty representative Danny Lee in next month's US Amateur after missing out in his sectional qualifying tournament at Bowling Green, Kentucky.
