If the early first round match-ups such as Spain v Italy, France v England or Germany v Portugal haven't got you excited about Euro 2012, there are plenty of things online which should get you in the mood.
First things first, the best videos I've seen online are on the Guardian's website. Created by Damn Fine Media, seven stop-motion animations show the footballing history of Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland and of course England in a witty and informative manner. Highly recommended for those wanting the rundown on the history of the tournament's contenders, as well as Ireland and England.
The Guardian also has this nifty graphic which shows which clubs have the most players represented at the tournament.
Possibly the most bizarre Euro 2012-related clip to be found online is a promotional advert for China's Now TV coverage of the tournament. In the promo, London is under attack by invading forces as people in Euro 2012 shirts play football in a packed stadium. At one point the footballers appear to defeat the attackers, but it really makes little sense, unless the tanks and jets shown are manned by the far-right thugs the BBC's Panorama warned us of.
The version we've found for you from YouTube includes an introduction from one of those nut-job Americans, one of those ones who believe President Obama is not American, saying the video is "predictive programming" for an attack on the London Olympics. I was going to find one without the loony, but "PatrioticTruther" is as mad as the Chinese clip and worth a laugh.
