BRISBANE, Australia - The 15-month-old son of former Wallabies rugby hooker Brendan Cannon was on life support on Sunday after being accidentally run down by Cannon in the driveway of their Brisbane home, Australian media reported.
The Sunday Telegraph reported Cannon backed over his son, Samuel, while reversing the family's four-wheel drive vehicle. The child broke both legs and suffered internal injuries and was in a critical condition in hospital, the newspaper reported.
Another former Wallabies hooker, Phil Kearns, was involved in a similar incident five years ago when he accidentally reversed over his infant son while reversing out of his driveway.
Cannon, 37, played 42 tests for Australia from 2001-06.
