The stats may be against them, but Football Ferns defender Ali Riley is adamant New Zealand can win the Women's World Cup.
New Zealand opens its campaign on Sunday against the Netherlands and Riley says they've never been better prepared.
"Just the results we've had in the past couple of years and the coaching and being able to get a lot of really good games in these past couple of years has been so important and that's a good measure of where you're at," she said.
"This is definitely the bet team we've ever had. I think, you know, our goal is to win the whole thing and if there was ever a Ferns team who could do it, it's this team."
But the stats are against New Zealand.
