Wellington Phoenix have snared another significant overseas player, enticing Iraq international midfielder Ali Abbas to sign a two-year contract.
Abbas boasts 128 A-League games, having played three seasons with the Newcastle Jets followed by four at Sydney FC before a one-season with Korean outfit Pohang Steelers.
The 30-year-old's signing brings recruitment to a close for new Phoenix coach Darije Kalezic.
