KEY POINTS:
Queensland Roar's Scottish striker Simon Lynch hopes to return to A-League action against the New Zealand Knights in Auckland on Sunday.
Lynch has been out with a back injury and the second-placed Roar have had mixed results in his absence.
He returned to training yesterday and says he is keen to get back playing after a frustrating few weeks on the sideline.
"It's been frustrating watching the last couple of weeks," he said.
"I'm not a very good spectator, I am always kind of on the edge of my seat and kicking every ball and heading every ball, so I'll be glad when I can get back out there."
The Roar thrashed the Knights 5-0 the last time they met in Brisbane, but coach Miron Bleiberg said his side could not expect another easy victory.
He said while most sides expected to win against the bottom-placed Knights, it did not always work out that way.
"No guarantee in our sport, you can go there and we can play good and still you don't know what will happen," he said.
"I think we'll need extremely bad luck not to get away with the three points, but it's always a possibility."
But Bleiberg said with two home games to come afterwards, the Roar will be looking to cement second spot on the ladder behind runaway leaders Melbourne.
"We go to New Zealand, we get the three points, we cement our place on the second place and then hopefully Adelaide and Melbourne, that have harder games than we have, will drop some points and that will give us a good platform," he said.
