The Wellington Phoenix aren't expecting to hear whether Sunday's game with Gold Coast United will go ahead until later tonight or early tomorrow morning.
Despite Gold Coast United having their licence - which was held by controversial owner Clive Palmer - terminated by Football Federation Australia (FFA) yesterday, the Phoenix are still keen to go ahead with their scheduled game at Westpac Stadium.
A Phoenix spokesman confirmed the FFA, who were to meet with Gold Coast players this afternoon, were also keen to have the game played this weekend to avoid any postponements.
"Rob Morrison, our chairman, has been working with them leaving no stone unturned to play the game on Sunday,'' the spokesman said.
