Wellington Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert will review a red-card decision that cost his team in the A-League.
The Phoenix have been thumped three-nil by the Queensland Roar in Brisbane, leaving them just two points clear of Perth at the bottom of the table. It was nil-all at halftime.
Wellington's marquee signing Ahmad Elrich was red carded for an apparent off-the-ball elbow in the first half.
Herbert says despite looking good under adversity, the red card proved costly, putting them on the back foot. He says he will review the tape as he did not get a good look at the incident himself so is not quite sure whether to be sympathetic to his player, although Elrich thinks he is innocent.
Herbert now turns his attention to his job as All Whites coach with the international side heading to Sydney today to begin their preparations for the weekend's World Cup qualifier in Vanuatu.
