The Wellington Phoenix soccer club has confirmed the departure of centreback Jon McKain.
The club said in a statement today it had agreed terms for McKain's transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, pending medical clearance.
McKain, 27, joined the Phoenix in 2008, arriving from Romanian Liga 1 club Politehnica Timisoara.
Capped 12 times for Australia, McKain has been a standout performer for the Phoenix in his two A-League seasons with the club.
Phoenix chairman and owner Terry Serepisos said it was sad to see McKain leave.
"He's been a fantastic member of the team and has made valuable contributions on and off the field.
"Joining a major Saudi Arabian club is a massive opportunity for Jon professionally and the club recognises and fully endorses his desire to further his career."
