Wellington Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert is hopeful that wins at home will carry his side into the A-League finals.
The Phoenix fell to the Mariners 1-0 in Gosford on Sunday and it is the poor away form that threatens to stand in the way of a top six berth.
With just a solitary win on the road, a 1-0 win over Perth on November 7, winning their three home games is crucial to the cause.
The Phoenix play Perth, Newcastle and North Queensland at home and have matches against Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney on Australian soil.
"We've got international travel, not just hopping down the road," Herbert said.
"It's the lay of the land, we know about it and have to deal with it.
"Our destiny is in our own hands, we've just got to keep ploughing along.
"We've got three home games to go and we've got back to getting points at home... hopefully its enough to get us over the line."
