The Wellington Phoenix have signed former Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Reece Crowther on a one year deal.
The 20-year-old joins the club to vie with incumbent Phoenix and All Whites goalie Mark Paston as the number one custodian.
The focus for the side will now shift back to securing the signatures of two strikers.
Two potential candidates are Team Wellington striker Luis Corrales and Waitakere United front-man Roy Krishna, who are currently trialling.
Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert says the pair have impressed in training, but they will get one last chance in a game situation tonight. He says hopefully they will get as close as possible to 90 minutes together.
Herbert hopes both do well but says at this stage they are only likely to sign one.
