Australian defender Jon McKain has re-signed with the Wellington Phoenix for one season, with an option for a second.
Phoenix chief executive Tony Pignata is thrilled to have won the race for the Socceroo's signature.
Pignata says McKain was in heavy demand and spoke with several clubs, but in the end he wanted to stay in Wellington.
The Phoenix have released Michael Ferrante and David Mulligan, but are continuing discussions with Eugene Dadi and Adrian Caceres.
