The All Whites' Phoenix contingent have little time to regroup ahead of Sunday's sudden-death A-League playoff against the Newcastle Jets.
Phoenix players Tim Brown, Tony Lochhead, Ben Sigmund and Leo Bertos all started in the two-nil loss to Mexico in Los Angeles, with all but Brown playing the entire 90 minutes.
The four leave LA this evening and will only arrive in Wellington at 10 tomorrow morning, just 30 hours before the finals match.
Bertos says he is feeling quite fatigued, with his legs feeling very heavy and tired and it is going to be tough to get them going again for Sunday.
Bertos spent a lot of time on the massage bench and in the ice bath after the two-nil loss to Mexico with a eye on recovering in time for the playoff.
