The New Zealand Knights have signed former Australian age-group goalkeeper Michael Turnbull for the 2006-07 A-League soccer season.
The 24-year-old will join the club in time for pre-season training in June and is currently in the Victoria State League.
Turnbull recently returned from a spell in Belgium with Standard Leige after work permit issues prevented him staying longer, a Knights spokesman said.
The 1.92m stopper was excited by the challenge of trying to improve last season's cellar dwellers.
"I was more than happy with the work going on at the club and the plans in place for the second A-League season.
"I am looking forward to beginning work at the Knights and helping build a successful club that the fans can be proud of," Turnbull said.
Danny Milosevic and Glen Moss shared the custodian role for the Knights in their inaugural season.
