KEY POINTS:
The New Zealand Knights have frustrated third placed Adelaide United with a 1-1 A-League draw across the Tasman.
The Knights opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Chinese import Gao Leilei.
Adelaide eventually equalised 17 minutes from full time through Greg Owens.
Knights skipper Darren Bazeley has mixed feelings about the result, saying that they are a little bit disappointed they did not win the game, having led for so long.
However, he says it was a good performance, and considering how Adelaide came into the game in the last 20 minutes a draw is probably quite good.
Bazeley credits goal keeper Mark Paston, who played brilliantly to keep his side in the match in the closing stages and to secure a first away point of the season.
Bazeley says some of the saves Paston made were sensational, and there was nothing he could have done about the goal.
The match was notable for Adelaide's Brazilian legend Romario being sensationally replaced in the 63rd minute after failing to score for the third match in a row.
The Knights now have two wins, three draws and 11 losses and are eight points adrift of Perth at the bottom of the table.
