KEY POINTS:
An obviously disappointed Paul Nevin yesterday admitted he was paid to get results.
"I haven't done that and have to suffer the consequences. I am loyal to the cause but, in the end, my time ran out.
"The players have given their best but last Friday's performance [the 4-0 loss to Sydney FC] was a bitter disappointment.
"The A-League is run at a decent level and demands a huge commitment.
"It needed more time than I could give. It has been virtually a 24-hours a day job and one I have had to do pretty much single-handedly."
Nevin dismissed any suggestion of taking another role at the Knights.
"I'm a coach/manager and have been relieved of those duties. I don't see what else I could do."
Where to now?
"I don't know. It will be a massive decision. One which will have to be judged on a family v career basis."
Will he watch Sunday's home game against Central Coast?
"Only on telly."
