Sydney FC defender Sung Hwan Byun will miss tomorrow night's A-League game with the Wellington Phoenix after being sent off four minutes into added time in his team's 0-0 draw with Melbourne Heart.
Byun, yellow-carded twice in as many minutes in the last minutes of the match played in pouring rain, was one of five players sent off in the weekend's action.
Perth Glory fared worst with referee Kris Griffiths-Jones dispatching Naum Sekulovski after 50 minutes and Brent Edwards 13 minutes later as the visitors attempted to hold on to the one-goal lead handed them by Robbie Fowler in the 24th minute of their clash with North Queensland Fury.
The Glory held on until the 81st minute when Mark Hughes snatched a goal and a point in the game between the bottom two.
Leaders Brisbane Roar thrashed fourth-placed Central Coast Mariners 5-1 away.
Two goals in three minutes from Jean Carlos Solorzano had the Roar 2-0 ahead after just 11 minutes. Mitch Nichols added a third before the break.
Adam Kwasnik got one back for the home side five minutes into the second half before the visitors finished with a roar as Reinaldo stretched the lead to 4-1 in the 89th minute then Mariners captain Alex Wilkinson added an own goal.
Three minutes into stoppage time, Daniel McBreen collected his second yellow card and was sent off.
The Phoenix head across the Tasman today looking for their second win over Sydney in the Hyundai-sponsored league after winning 2-1 at home in round six. But Sydney striker Alex Brosque believes his team are still in good shape.
"If we can pick up points, hopefully three on Wednesday, then we're right back in the mix," he said.
