All Whites striker Jeremy Brockie is convinced moving to Sydney FC can help turn his dream of playing English premiership soccer into reality.
Brockie, 18, who made his international debut last month, signed a two-year deal with the inaugural A-League champions this week.
The Nelsonian also received overtures from Newcastle United and Perth Glory after marking himself as the find of the New Zealand Knights' A-League season.
But the decision to join Sydney was simple given a roster that includes the likes of Steve Corica, Saso Petrovski and former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke.
"My dream is to play in the English premier league so I just wanted to go to a club with players and a coaching staff who can help me develop my game -- I think Sydney's the way to go," Brockie said.
Brockie who scored four goals in 12 appearances, including nine starts, for the Knights, realises cracking Sydney's starting 11 will be a tougher proposition but would not have it any other way.
"I don't expect to get straight in there because they've got a lot of strong players.
"The amount of game time I get depends on how much effort I put in -- it's all up to me."
