SYDNEY - Goalkeeper Liam Reddy seems set to make a switch to A-League club Wellington Phoenix after being released by the Brisbane Roar on Tuesday.
Reddy, who the Roar had already agreed to release from his contract at the end of the current season, was released immediately with some reports suggesting he is on the verge of a move to the Phoenix.
The New Zealand club is missing a frontline 'keeper after All Whites international Mark Paston was ruled out for several weeks with a fractured tibia last week.
Reddy, 28, has been with the Roar since moving from the Newcastle Jets in 2007.
Reddy joins Scottish international Charlie Miller as Roar outcasts with coach Ange Postecoglou releasing the midfielder last week.
Miller has since signed for Gold Coast United, making his debut in last week's 3-2 loss to Newcastle.
The Roar have moved swiftly to replace Reddy, announcing they had signed Brisbane Premier League player Matt Ham for the remainder of the A-League campaign.
Ham was back up to Reddy at the Roar in the 2007-08 season and has also been signed as short-term injury cover for the Roar and North Queensland Fury but is yet to make an A-League appearance.
It is likely Ham will be back-up to current Roar stopper Griffin McMaster in tonight's game against the Fury.
