Phoenix accept Sigmund ban

The Wellington Phoenix have decided against appealing the three match ban given to central defender Ben Sigmund.

Sigmund was charged with violent conduct for an incident stemming from Friday's draw against the Melbourne Victory.

Phoenix captain Andrew Durante says losing Sigmund is a blow, but they have to move on.

Jon McKain will step in.

McKain has been out for nearly three months with a thigh injury, but came on as a late substitute on Friday night. It is likely he will have to play 90 minutes against Sydney on Saturday.
