Watch: Terrifying moment Celtic fan falls from stadium's top-tier

Terrifying footage has emerged of a Celtic fan's 16ft-plunge from the top tier of Borussia-Park during his team's 1-1 Champions League draw with Borussia Monchengladbach.

The video shows the man, 24, losing his footing as he attempts to climb down to the section below where other away fans are housed.

The supporter is seen to get caught in a protective net which was separating the Scots from the home end, before plunging on to a metal railing below and being knocked unconscious.

The fan quickly came to but according to the German club he was left with a collapsed lung and a broken rib, as well as several facial injuries.

A spokesperson said: "He got over the railing and tried to hold onto a rope, which holds a vertical net between the guest block and the Gladbach fans.

"He lost control and fell about two meters deep into a horizontal protection-net and from there another three meters to the ground. He was briefly unconscious, but quickly responded."

On the pitch, Celtic secured a spirited 1-1 draw thanks to Moussa Dembele's second-half penalty, cancelling out Lars Strindl's 32nd-minute opener.

The Scots remain rock bottom of the Group C, two points behind the Bundesliga outfit.

Brendan Rodgers' side welcome Barcelona to Celtic Park in the next round of Champions League fixtures on November 23, before travelling to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City.
