Lionel Messi took an outrageous penalty kick in Barcelona's 6-1 win over Celta Viga in La Liga this morning.
Barcelona were 3-1 up when they were awarded a penalty in the 81st minute after Messi was dragged down in the area. The world's best player stepped up to take the kick, but instead of shooting he tapped the ball to the side and Luis Suarez scored, completing his hat-trick.
Barcelona coach Luis Enrique was seen laughing on the sideline at the unexpected turn of events. Barcelona went on to win the match 6-1 and are now three points clear at the top of the league.
