ROME (AP) Hellas Verona has left the Italian capital by train a day after its team bus was attacked by Roma fans.
The incident occurred on the outskirts of the city after Roma beat the promoted side 3-0 Sunday. Some of the windows of the Verona bus were broken.
While there were no reports of injuries, Verona was so scared by the incident that the club decided to stay in Rome overnight surrounded by heavy security and head home by rail instead.
The incident occurred the same day that one end of the Stadio Olimpico was closed to fans for Roma supporters' racist chants directed at AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli last season.
Last weekend, Verona fans were also involved in clashes with Milan supporters after stunning the Rossoneri in the Italian league opener.
