VALENCIA, Spain (AP) Valencia players Andres Guardado and Joao Pereira may not be available for their countries' World Cup qualifying playoff games next month due to injury.
The Spanish club says Guardado pulled his left hamstring in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Almeria, which the forward exited just before halftime with the injury. Guardado may not be available for a call-up by Mexico for its playoff against New Zealand on Nov. 13 and 20.
Pereira, who plays at the back, also has a left leg injury which could threaten his participation in Portugal's playoff against Sweden on Nov. 15 and 19.
