MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (AP) Uruguay may have a 5-0 lead over Jordan ahead of the second leg of their World Cup playoff, but coach Oscar Tabarez is still expected to field his strongest side on Wednesday.
Tabarez is taking nothing for granted and is likely to start his best 11, including forwards Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani.
It's the fourth consecutive time Uruguay has gone into an intercontinental playoff to reach the World Cup. It defeated Costa Rica to reach the 2010 World Cup, but lost to Australia in 2005, and defeated Australia in 2001.
If it qualifies on Wednesday, Uruguay would be one of eight seeded teams in next month's World Cup draw. The seedings are based on FIFA's rankings.
Uruguay has twice won the World Cup and was a semifinalist in 2010.
