Three-way tie atop MLS Eastern Conference

CARSON, Calif. (AP) Sporting Kansas City and New York both won while Montreal drew on Saturday to create a three-way tie atop Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference.

Sporting won 2-1 at Colorado, with Graham Zusi scoring the winner in the 89th minute.

Benny Feilhaber scored the opening goal for Sporting with a spectacular 30-yard strike in the 33rd minute the club's first goal in 213 minutes of play but the Rapids seemed to have earned a point when Edson Buddle equalized in the 77th, only for Zusi to net the winner.

It was Colorado's first loss in ten games.

Montreal's 0-0 draw at Philadelphia extended the Impact's unbeaten run to three games but the dropped points cost them the outright East lead.

Philadelphia improved to a 4-4-0 record this season when coming off defeats.

New York won 2-1 at home against lowly D.C. United, with goals from Lloyd Sam and Tim Cahill.

English import Bradley Wright-Phillips made his first MLS start in Thierry's place.

Nick DeLeon got his first goal of the season for United, equalizing in the 36th minute, but Cahill restored the hosts' lead a minute later.

Los Angeles' Robbie Keane scored twice and set up Landon Donovan's 132nd MLS goal as the Galaxy beat San Jose 3-0.

Keane, who has 12 goals this season, sent Donovan streaking alone into San Jose's box to give Los Angeles a lead in the 26th minute. Keane then converted a penalty in the 43rd and scored on a volley in the 67th.

Donovan moved within two goals of MLS career goals leader Jeff Cunningham, and one behind Jaime Moreno.

Seattle's Eddie Johnson scored in the 14th minute to lift Seattle to a 1-0 win at Columbus despite playing down a man for 83 minutes.

Johnson gave Seattle (12-8-4) the lead with a header off a 35-yard free kick by Mauro Rosales.

Seattle's Leonardo Gonzales was sent off in the 7th minute when, as the last defender, he pulled down Ryan Finley 40 yards from goal.
