LISBON, Portugal (AP) Sporting Lisbon drew 1-1 at home with Benfica in the Portuguese capital derby Saturday to remain unbeaten in three rounds and rest as the overnight leader.
Striker Fredy Montero scored with a header from a pass by Andre Martins to give Sporting the lead in the 10th minute of a first half it dominated.
But Benfica's 19-year-old Lazar Markovic came on and grabbed the equalizer in the 65th with an individual effort.
"We were better in every aspect, with more possession, more shots and more corners," said Sporting coach Leonardo Jardim. "Benfica showed more maturity and ended up drawing."
Also on Saturday, Setubal won 4-1 at Guimaraes.
