LISBON, Portugal (AP) Sporting Lisbon routed Belenenses 3-0 to provisionally increase its lead of the Portuguese league on Saturday.
Sporting opened a five-point advantage over FC Porto and Benfica before they both play on Sunday. Porto visits Rio Ave, while Benfica is at Olhanense.
Adrien Silva started the scoring for Sporting by converting a penalty in the 28th minute when Joao Afonso fouled Cedric Alves on the edge of the area.
Andre Martins doubled the lead in the 53rd, before substitute Wilson Eduardo capped the victory five minutes from time.
Also, Braga beat visiting Setubal 2-0 to provisionally move to within two points of fourth-place Estoril.
