"Unless there is a problem at training on Saturday morning, we will go with the same team that beat Sydney," said Herbert. "The boys who played for the All Whites on Wednesday are fine. They trained separately from the rest this morning but they will be all together for the final light run.
"It has been a funny few days but as far as I'm concerned, the game is going ahead as planned. We haven't heard anything to the contrary," said Herbert yesterday.
"The problems Gold Coast have are nothing to do with us.
"It is important that we just concentrate on the game and getting the points we need to get back into the top three and keep the pressure on the other teams.
The Phoenix drew 1-1 with the Gold Coast in the opening round and followed that with a 1-0 win on January 15, both played at Skilled Park.
Back home, the Phoenix will go into the match with some confidence against a team who have struggled on and off the field.
Chasing their eighth win in 13 home games this season, Herbert will again have Mark Paston in goal, Manny Muscat, Ben Sigmund, Andrew Durante and Tony Lochhead across the back, Vinnie Lia, Tim Brown, Leo Bertos and Dani Sanchez in midfield and Chris Greenacre and Paul Ifill up front.
Even his bench is unchanged with Tony Warner, Nicky Ward, Mirjan Pavlovic and Alex Smith in the 15.
The off-field dramas continued yesterday with Gold Coast boss Clive Palmer threatening to take Football Federation Australia back to court as the war of words between him and FFA chairman Frank Lowy raged on.
In their weekly update of player movements, the FFA declined to name any Gold Coast players for the match leading to speculation it might not be played.
In the biggest games of the round, the Brisbane Roar played Melbourne Heart last night and leaders Central Coast Mariners meet Sydney FC today.
