Football fans have been handed a bonus for Sunday's ASB Charity Cup clash between Waitakere United and Auckland City and subsequent ASB Premiership matches with the announcement of a partnership with SOMMET Sports who will provide delayed coverage of all Waitakere United home games this season.
Under the arrangement, the matches will be shown on the Monday following the game free to air on National TV.
Waitakere United coach Brian Shelley welcomes the initiative which will fill a gap in local football coverage.
"It's brilliant news that the games will be on Sommet Sports," said Shelley. "The ASB Premiership is a good product and I hope we get an entertaining match that makes people want to see more of the competition."
The involvement of SOMMET could not have been more timely with the two teams boasting the greatest rivalry in domestic soccer are again going head-to-head.
