The Knights are expected to announce a handful of signings this week, including a player who won the FA Youth Cup with Manchester United.
Coach John Adshead has a dozen players on his books but expects this number to be closer to 18 or 19 within the next few days.
He said about five Kiwis will make up his final squad of 20 to take part in the revamped Australian A-League which kicks off in August.
Adshead said that while the contract had yet to be signed, he was confident a youngster who was a member of the Manchester United reserve team would join the Auckland-based club.
"He's a young player who's been with Manchester United all season and won the youth cup with them at one stage," he said.
"Both of the players we hope to announce on Monday or Tuesday are playing in England. One is a central midfielder and the other has played on the left."
All Whites extended squad member Cole Tinkler, 18, and Canterbury's Jeremy Brockie, 17, have been added as two of the Knights' three under-20 signings.
The team starts pre-season training in mid-June.
