Tottenham has reached an agreement with Dutch club Ajax for Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen, its third signing of the day as Spurs prepare for the imminent departure of star winger Gareth Bale.
The 21-year-old Eriksen has widely been touted as one of the most talented young midfielders in Europe and has already earned 37 caps for Denmark, having scored 33 goals in 161 games for Ajax since joining the club in 2008.
Ajax said the deal was worth up to 13.5 million euros.
The signing comes after Tottenham already announced deals Friday for Romania center back Vlad Chiriches and Argentina forward Erik Lamela.
Bale's move to Real Madrid is expected to be announced before the transfer window closes on Monday.
