MADRID - Real Madrid's Brazilian striker Ronaldo has said footballers have nothing to hide after French media reports linked Spanish clubs with a doctor involved in a doping investigation into cycling.
"We are always available for the controls, and the surprise checks from the Federation and from UEFA. We have nothing to hide, we haven't done anything," Ronaldo said.
French daily Le Monde said it had seen documents which suggested Eufemiano Fuentes, who is being questioned in connection with Operacion Puerto in Spain, had helped in the physical preparation of Primera Liga clubs Real Madrid, Barcelona, Real Betis and Valencia.
The newspaper said the documents featured signs which Spanish investigators believe indicate banned drugs.
All the clubs mentioned in the article have denied having any kind of relationship with Fuentes.
