The Wellington Phoenix soccer club will be without Dutch striker Maceo Rigters for the upcoming A-League season.
Rigters, who scored the Phoenix' only goal in a 5-1 pre-season loss to Brisbnane Roar on the weekend, could not agree terms, a club spokesman said today.
Talks with attacking midfielder Dani Sanchez were progressing well however and the club are confident of securing the Spainiard's signature.
The Phoenix continue their pre-season warm-ups against the Heart in Melbourne on Friday as they build towards their A-League opener, away to Gold Coast on October 9.
