New Zealand are on their way to the women's soccer World Cup in China later this year.
They yesterday defeated hosts Papua New Guinea 7-0 to complete a clean-sweep of the four-team Oceania qualifying group and book the last of 16 places in the World Cup which will be played from September 10-30.
By ensuring their presence in China, the team have earned Soccer New Zealand a minimum $US300,000 ($416,608) payday as part of an overall World Cup prize-pool of $US6 million.
John Herdman's side also becomes the third New Zealand team to qualify for a World Cup this year, following the under-20 and under-17 men's teams.
