New Zealand midfielder Michael McGlinchey is set to leave Central Coast and join former coach Graham Arnold's Japanese club on loan for the next 12 months
The All Whites will join Arnold at J-League club Vegalta Sendai for the 2014 season in a move that current coach Phil Moss encouraged.
McGlinchey is available for the Mariners' next two matches before departing.
His position will be filled by former favourite Bernie Ibini, who was sold by the reigning A-League champions for $650,000 to Chinese Super League club Shanghai East Asia just six months ago.
The 21-year-old was granted extended compassionate leave from Shanghai East Asia to be closer to his family in Sydney following the death of his father in November.
