The Junior All Whites have had a nightmare start to the under-17 World Cup with a 7-0 defeat to Uruguay in their opening game in the United Arab Emirates.
Leandro Otormin and Franco Acosta both picked up doubles as Uruguay scored five in the second half to go top of group B.
New Zealand had just five shots at goal compared to Uruguay's 28.
In the other group B game Italy defeated Ivory Coast 1-0.
The Junior All Whites next face Italy in Ras Al-Khaimah on Monday morning NZT.
