The Junior All Whites have ended their under-17 World Cup campaign with a third defeat after going down to Ivory Coast 3-0 in Abu Dhabi.
Moussa Bakayoko scored a double for Ivory Coast, with a goal in each half, while Meite Yakou netted his team's third three minutes before fulltime.
New Zealand went down to 10 men in just the 34th minute when Nick Forrester received his second yellow card of the match.
The Ivory Coast dominated most of the match, enjoying more than 70 percent possession with 32 attempts at goal. In comparison New Zealand just had two shots at goal.
The defeat means New Zealand finishes bottom of group B following losses to Uruguay and Italy. Uruguay finished top of the group following a 2-1 win over Italy, with both teams advancing to the second stage. Ivory Coast must wait for other results to see if they qualify as one of the better third placed teams.
