The opening day of the Ukrainian Premier League season proved a shocker for Goverla this weekend as they compounded a 3-2 loss to Chernomorets with one of the worst own goals ever seen.
While attempting to cut out a Chernomorets attack, defender Evgen Eliseev swiped the ball towards his own net and over his keeper who made a real hash of the attempted save.
Instead of catching the ball - and being penalised for handling a back pass - the keeper tried to flick the ball over the bar with his head, making only minimal contact and creating a moment which is sure to haunt him for the rest of his career.
