The Football Kingz gained a precious point with a 1-1 draw against defending champions Wollongong Wolves in their National Soccer League match in Wollongong last night.
Wollongong - second on the table compared to the Kingz' fourth last going into the game - went ahead through a dubious penalty early on when Stuart Young tumbled to the ground as he went for a bouncing ball inside the Kingz penalty area and became tangled with a defender and goalkeeper Chris Marsh.
Young got up to score from the spot.
However the Kingz played some controlled, neat soccer.
The equaliser came 13 minutes into the second half when Ivan Vicelich took his chance well.
Wollongong found a man down when former Kingz midfielder Dino Menillo was sent off for an ugly challenge on Andy Bluhm.
Soccer: Good point for Kingz
