The Football Kingz family affair grew yesterday with the signing of 20-year-old goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos to a one-year contract.
Theoklitos, who has yet to play in the National League, is the younger brother of team manager Andy Theoklitos.
Last year's Melbourne premier league under-21 player of the year, Theoklitos is the first goalkeeper signed by the Kingz on a fulltime contract for the season.
Chris Marsh is back but only on a month-by-month basis, and All White and Miramar Rangers goalkeeper James Bannatyne is having a trial with the club.
Incumbent defender Riki van Steeden was also signed yesterday, bringing the confirmed squad to 17.
"We have yet to sign a second goalkeeper and we might add one other player to a fulltime contract provided we can stay within budget," club manager Chris Turner said.
Also on trial is 28-year-old defender Vinko Buljubasic, who won two championships with the Melbourne Knights and last season played for Perth Glory.
The Kingz will play a warm-up match at Ericsson Stadium tonight against a combined Federation one-two team.
The 7.30 pm clash will be preceded by a charity game featuring a number of company chief executives, including Turner and Kingz coach Mike Petersen.
Entry is free, but any returns will go to Koru Care.
