Melbourne Victory has drawn first blood against Sydney FC with a 2-1 win over the A-League premiers in the first leg of the major semi-final in Melbourne.
Melbourne, already missing striker Archie Thompson and Robbie Kruse, will head to Sydney with an even more depleted attack though, after the sending off striker Nik Mrdja.
