KEY POINTS:
Fifa president Sepp Blatter has proposed ending the traditional summer break in European club football and moving the season to a February to November schedule.
The major European clubs supported the idea, Blatter said.
He was also confident his long-talked-about plan to limit the number of foreign players in European club football would soon come into force. Clubs would have to play at least six players eligible to represent the national team of their country, with a maximum of five foreign players making up the numbers.
