Six people were arrested after a riot yesterday between rival Serbian and Croatian soccer club fans following a NSW Premier League match at Parramatta Stadium.
It was the third violent outburst at a soccer match in two months.
An increased police presence and beefed up security measures failed to prevent the clash which involved up to 100 fans supporting both the Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Sydney United.
Police and ground security had planned for Sydney United fans to be allowed out and dispersed while Bonnyrigg fans remained locked in the stands. But a delay in a Sydney United supporter bus leaving the ground led to a rush of rival fans who lit flares and threw rocks.
