Former Irish international and twice soccer World Cup finals player Terry Phelan arrives in New Zealand tomorrow to take up his post as player-coach for Otago United.
He is one of the most successful professional soccer players ever to appear in New Zealand, with a long and distinguished career at club and international level.
Phelan, 38, has played 42 internationals for Ireland and was a FA Cup winner with Wimbledon in 1988.
He also has two Division 1 Championship medals, won with Fulham and Manchester City, as well as appearing in two World Cup finals and European Championship finals.
