A-League soccer leaders Sydney FC have received a further boost with coach Vitezslav Lavicka signing a one-year contract extension.
The 46-year-old Czech put pen to paper on the new deal yesterday after a successful first campaign which has seen him guide the 2005-06 season champions to the top of the table with six rounds of the regular season remaining.
Lavicka is set to become the first coach in Sydney FC's history to take charge of the side at the start of two successive seasons, since four coaches had departed in as many years before his arrival in February last year.
