New Zealand Football's awaiting a directive from FIFA about the All Whites' yellow card situation for the remainder of World Cup qualifying.
Nine players are carrying yellow cards into their next qualifier, meaning they're just one more yellow away from an automatic one match ban.
New Zealand Football chief executive Grant McKavanagh says they've got two issues, the first of which is the cards carry over 11 matches.
"The second part is, if we make the inter-continental playoffs, what situation is the Concacaf team on and I think we need to make sure that it's fair and equal on both sides when we hit the inter-continental playoff."
McKavanagh says they don't want to deliberately incur yellow cards so they serve their suspension before the inter-continental playoff.
