NEWCASTLE, England (AP) West Bromwich Albion midfielder Stephane Sessegnon has been banned from driving for 20 months after admitting charges of drunk driving.
The Benin international also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and without insurance.
Sessegnon, who was playing for Sunderland when he was arrested in August while his teammates were playing a League Cup match, was also fined 7,605 pounds ($12,200).
Sessegnon, a former Paris Saint-Germain player, was warned he could be jailed if he is caught driving during the ban.
