BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) Police in Bucharest have detained 62 people for being in possession of flares and provocative banners containing insults ahead of Tuesday's second leg of the World Cup playoff between Romania and Greece.
Riot police spokesman Georgian Enache said the unidentified people were planning to take the banners and flares into the match venue, Bucharest's National Arena stadium.
Enache said police made the discovery in a vacant factory near the stadium about an hour before kickoff.
Romania lost the first leg 3-1 in Piraeus on Friday.
